Baltic NPP: Mr. Vladimir Solovyev, a deputy of plentipotentiary representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the North-West area visited the NPP costruction site
During the visit he was shown with buildings and constructions of "nuclear iseland" and "turbine iseland" by Mr. VitLatvia aliy Trutnev, sdirector of Rosenergoatom affiliate Baltic NPP under construction and Mr. Vyacheslav Nikitin, director of Baltic affiliate of SC NIAEP. Mr. Vladimir Solovyev also visited reinforcement armature production site, concrete production site, purification and warehouse facilities.
After that the meeting was continued in the conerence-hall of the Directorate of the NPP under construction, where the detailed presentation of the Baltic NPP construction project was made. "Nor today neither tomorrow the construction of the NPP in Kaliningrad region would seize to be pending taking into account the needs of the regional development and involvement of new energy consuming idustries. " - mentioned Mr. Vitaliy Trutnev in his presentaton. He also noticed that Baltic NPP is reasonable due to absence of stability at the market of the Western Europe.
Mr. Yuriy Shalimov told that Baltic NPP is the first nuclear power plant, which construction in accordance with the ordiniance of the Governemnt of the Russian Federation, could be participated by foreign investors with share up to 49 % in the charter capital. In this respect, Mr. Yuriy Shalimov pointed, it is necessary to revise a number of laws and regulations of the Russian Federation. In addition, the director general of SC Baltic NPP told how were arranged the activities on the preliminary stage of construction. "Our strategy meets the EC energy policy: clean, "green", safe, reliable and not-expensive energy. The needs for consumption exist in Lithuanua, Latvia and Poland. Moreover, there are some consumers needed more than 500 MW of capacity in this region." - he said.
Mr. Vladimir Solovyev made a high asessment to what he saw and noticed the significance of the activities performed in construction of Baltic NPP: "This NPP could provide export of electricity to the near European countries and oriented to the solution of energy security of Kaliningrad region. It is obvious, Baltic NPP is important from the pont of view of new jobs creation and reliable taxation basis. " He also noted that the NPP meets all state-of-art safety requirements including the ones introduced after Fukushima NPP accident.
