BNY Mellon Celebrates LGBT Life in Manchester
OREANDA-NEWS. August 26, 2015. BNY Mellon’s Manchester office in the UK is helping mark the 25th anniversary of charity fundraising events celebrating Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) life in the city.
BNY Mellon turned back the clocks to the 1990s with a special dress down day and helped raise funds for LGBT and HIV community groups and organisations in Greater Manchester. Additional activities included a bake sale and raffle with all proceeds going to The Manchester Pride Community Fund.
Manchester employees will also be volunteering at Manchester Pride ‘The Big weekend’ over the August Bank Holiday weekend (29-31st) through the company Community Partnership Scheme. Additionally, employees will be attending the ‘Transcript’ Event which is part of the Manchester Pride fringe event.
Mark Fletcher, Manchester Pride Chief Executive, added: “Manchester Pride supports and funds a range of charities and organisations, large and small in delivering projects with direct impact on the LGBT community and those living with, or affected by HIV.
“We are delighted that BNY Mellon was fully behind our ‘Bring The 90s to Work Day’ and involved in a range of other special activities and events.”
