With expected launch in the Brazilian market during the 2016 first quarter, the new Edge 2016 was shown to the media in the Ford year-end press conference with the presence of 200 journalists and online influencers. This was the first presentation of the crossover that will compete in Brazilian luxury segment.

Steven Armstrong, Ford South America president, announced that the Edge 2016 will be one of the next year launches including new versions of heavy truck, cars and pick-ups, despite the challenging market scenario. “At this moment, we didn’t reveal the details of these future product actions”, said Steven.

Ford Brazil holds traditionally the meeting with the press to do a balance of the year activities. In 2015, the key highlights were the growth of about 1.3 percentage points in market share registered 10.6% (January to November); the Focus 5-door and 4-door launches; and the celebration of 1 million EcoSport units produced at Cama?ari’s plant, in Bahia, since its introduction in 2003.
