OREANDA-NEWS In accordance with the schedule plan approved by the government for financing the program of preferential leasing of civil vessels, the volume of supplies of the largest series of dry cargo ships of the RSD59 project will be cut almost twice, and they themselves will rise in price by a third. Vedomosti writes about this with reference to the order of the Cabinet of Ministers.
In the period 2023-2028, the State Transport Leasing Company (GTLC) is to provide 18 dry cargo ships to tenants. The cost of the work will amount to 30 billion rubles.
At the same time, in 2023, the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC), represented by its Krasnoe Sormovo shipyard (Nizhny Novgorod), signed a contract with STLC for the supply of 34 vessels of the RSD59 project. These are river—sea class bulk carriers with a length of 141 meters and a width of 17 meters, used for transporting grain, roundwood and coal.
At that time, it was assumed that the cost of one vessel would be 1.25 billion rubles, now it is 1.67 billion. Also, three years ago, the parties expected that 22 dry cargo ships would be delivered by the end of 2025. To date, there is no public data on the transfer of at least one vessel to the customer.
