Analysts interviewed by the agency note that as a result, the countries of the association are putting their energy security in the hands of the United States.

The US share of EU oil imports jumped to 15% in the first 11 months of last year from 9% in 2021, as a result, the US became the largest supplier of black gold to the European market.

"The United States is interested in serving only its interests, and Europe is their food base. The EU acquired risks in the field of energy security, put itself into the hands of the United States without resistance, and now industry, the household sector and trade depend on the Americans," State Duma Deputy Alexander Tolmachev (United Russia faction) commented to RIA Novosti.
