OREANDA-NEWS The sale of about 3 billion products that are subject to mandatory labeling and do not meet the requirements has been blocked since the end of 2024, Rospotrebnadzor reported.
"In particular, over 330 million units of expired dairy products were blocked, which did not reach consumers," the ministry's press service told reporters.
Rospotrebnadzor clarified that in 2024-2025, about 25 thousand supervisory measures were carried out.
"In 95 cases out of 100, such events resulted in the detection of gross violations. During the inspections, employees of the department inspected 2.4 million units of products. 25% of the products from the checked assortment had violations of digital labeling on store shelves," the department said.
The cash control mechanism applies to 18 categories of goods, including tobacco products (including nicotine-containing and nicotine-free products), packaged water, soft drinks, dairy products, dietary supplements, shoes, light industry goods, photographic products, tires, perfumes, beer, medical devices and wheelchairs.
