Russia has increased beer imports from the former Soviet Republic

OREANDA-NEWS From January to June, the supply of Armenian beer to the Russian market increased almost nine times. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the UN Comtrade platform. If in the first half of 2024, the Russian Federation bought 576.3 thousand dollars worth of this drink from Armenia, then in the same period of this year, imports increased to 5.12 million dollars.
At the same time, the import of Russian beer to the market of this Transcaucasian republic increased by only 18 percent. At the same time, Germany was able to increase beer supplies to Armenia 2.3 times, to $1.5 million, and the Czech Republic 2.5 times, to $700,000.
In addition, imports of Belgian beer increased to $267,000, and Irish beer increased more than fivefold (to $279,000). According to Eurostat, Czech beer exports to Russia in June increased to 1.8 million euros. As a result, the Czech Republic became the main supplier of this drink to the Russian market (among other EU countries). In addition, beer produced in North Korea began to enter the Russian market.
