OREANDA-NEWS  Russian vegetable producers have lowered prices for some types of products. These data from the Russian Ministry of Agriculture were quoted by RIA Novosti.

In particular, it turned out that in annual terms, selling prices for cucumbers fell by 5.7 percent, to 143.3 rubles per kilogram. As for tomatoes, their cost dropped by 17 percent, to 144.3 rubles per kilogram. According to Rosstat, tomatoes are 2.1 percent cheaper in retail than a year ago. Prices for cucumbers remain at the level of 2025.

The Ministry stressed that last year Russia had a high harvest, which reached about 7.6 million tons of outdoor and indoor products.

Earlier it was reported that since the beginning of the year, inflation has been 1.72 percent. In the period from January 13 to January 19, the most expensive vegetables were cucumbers (plus 5.96 percent), tomatoes (3.26 percent), carrots (2.59 percent) and potatoes (2.58 percent). Prices are rising 2.3 times faster than a year earlier.
