OREANDA-NEWS  Former Verkhovna Rada deputy Yuri Mikhalchishin on the NTA TV channel compared the presidents of Russia and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, with Joseph Stalin and Franklin Roosevelt.

According to him, today it is pointless to discuss security guarantees for Ukraine from the European Union when it itself needs protection. According to the politician, the Russian-American dialogue in Anchorage, Alaska, may raise the issue of dividing Europe into spheres of influence.

Mikhalchishin allowed a repeat of the Tehran or Yalta conferences during the Second World War. "Only in a format where the latest Stalin and the new Roosevelt will meet without the latest Churchill, because he simply does not exist and, unfortunately, cannot exist," he concluded.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, during talks with US leader Donald Trump, asked for security guarantees for Kiev for up to 50 years.
