OREANDA-NEWS A meeting between the presidents of Belarus and the United States, Alexander Lukashenko and Donald Trump, would be "extremely useful" for the latter, as the Belarusian leader would help him "open his eyes." Lukashenko stated this in an interview with Time, a recording of which was published by the BelTA news agency.
"Because unlike all of you who are running around him, I would open his eyes to many things. This includes US-Russian relations, especially on the conflict in Ukraine. And, of course, about the position of Belarus," he said.
In addition, the president of Belarus said that at a meeting with representatives of the United States, he joked that Americans miss the dictator. According to him, the delegation replied that they "had enough of their own," to which Lukashenko said that he was referring to himself, and that he would have said a lot to their president.
Earlier, the President of Belarus met in Minsk with the special envoy of the President of the United States, Keith Kellogg. It is noted that Kellogg became the most senior United States official to visit the country in recent years.
