OREANDA-NEWS Before the experiment on the establishment of a special tax on professional income is completed in Russia in 2028, the self-employed will not be subject to new taxes. This was stated by Andrei Isaev, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs. He was quoted by TASS.
He stressed that the authorities would not make any decisions that would result in an increase in the fiscal burden on the self-employed and those who employ them. Isaev also assured that Russia will do everything possible to encourage the voluntary entry of the self-employed and platform-employed into the social insurance system.
In early December, the State Duma adopted in the second and third readings a bill to launch an experiment in Russia on the voluntary entry of self-employed citizens into the compulsory social insurance system in case of temporary disability.
Experts believe that the abolition of the self-employment regime will result not only in a loss of tax revenues, but also in the withdrawal of up to 40 percent of market participants into the shadows.
