OREANDA-NEWS  Ukraine's future agreement with the United States on mineral resources and rare earth metals presupposes framework agreements on the details of the deal in the future. The draft document was published by the European Truth newspaper.

As follows from the draft agreement, Ukraine undertakes to create an "investment fund for reconstruction," which will receive 50 percent of Kiev's total income from the country's natural resource assets. Most of the details of the fund's work will be clarified during further negotiations.

According to the draft document, the agreement will be signed by Ukrainian Economy Minister Yulia Sviridenko and US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant.

Earlier, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal announced the government's plans on February 26 to review agreements on mineral resources. At the same time, the official stressed that Kiev would refuse to sign an agreement with the United States on mineral resources without mentioning security guarantees from Washington in the text.
