OREANDA-NEWS. March 02, 2012. President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan General of the Army Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired a meeting of the State Security Council.

Opening the meeting the Turkmen leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov informed that the first item of the meeting agenda was the appointment of Minister of National Security and Executive Secretary of the State Security Council. Evaluating the professionalism and managerial abilities of Ya. Berdiev, the Turkmen leader appointed him to these posts and expressed belief that he would cope with the tasks.

The President appointed M. Yslamov Chief of the State Border Guard Service of Turkmenistan.

The President appointed B. Gundogdyev Minister of Defence of Turkmenistan.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov appointed Ya. Yazmyradov Prosecutor General of Turkmenistan.

A. Garaev was appointed as Chief of the State Drugs Service of Turkmenistan.

I. Mulikov was appointed as Minister of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan.

A. Hallyev was appointed as Chairman of the Supreme Council of Turkmenistan.

The President appointed M. Garryev Minister of Adalat of Turkmenistan.

The Turkmen leader appointed A. Hojamgulyev Chairman of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.

D. Bayramov was appointed as Chairman of the State Migration Service of Turkmenistan.

The Turkmen leader signed the documents approving the appointments and called upon the high-ranking officials to take a serious and effective approach to fulfilling the tasks assigned and always remember about their solemn duty to the Motherland and the Turkmen people.

The Turkmen leader noted that in accordance with the Constitution of Turkmenistan and with the view to maintain the constitutional order and social stability that stood as a determining factor for achieving the lofty aims set forth to the Turkmen society in the present epoch the consistent and specific measures were taken to modernize the Armed Forces.

The President emphasized that the Military Doctrine of Turkmenistan adopted in January 2009 was purely defensive in nature and aimed at ensuring the peaceful and prosperous life of Turkmen citizens.

Focusing on the need to optimize the activity of law enforcement agencies, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that Turkmen military and law enforcement agencies successfully ensure military and public security, guaranteed peaceful and constructive labour of the Turkmen people and facilitated the implementation of the programmes to develop civil society and improve the people’s welfare.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the heads of law enforcement agencies must abide by the lofty moral principles, be faithful to their oath to the Motherland and people, serve the Motherland, be patriots and professionals, maintain the glorious military traditions of the Turkmen nation, be worthy of the high rank of military and law enforcement officials and gain prestige It is these qualities that law enforcement officials should have for being appointed to the high posts, said the President.

Rigorous requirements are set today to law enforcement agencies, said the national leader. In this regard your ultimate goal is to rigorously supervise the implementation of the measures for strengthening discipline within military and law enforcement subdivisions. In this context particular attention should be paid to professional training of military personnel and law enforcement officials involved in the educational and training process, said the President.

Focusing on the important role of the subdivisions in combating illegal trafficking in narcotic drugs, the Turkmen leader underlined the need to earache efforts in this important area of work. Also, effective measures for preventing delinquencies and protecting the state border should be stepped up.

The newly appointed high-ranking officials assured the Turkmen leader that they would make every effort to fulfil the tasks assigned.

On concluding the meeting, the President wished the participants every success in their important activity to safeguard the peaceful, prosperous and happy life of our people.
