OREANDA-NEWS. October 23, 2017. Sberbank participated in the Sibos annual international financial forum. The delegation included representatives of corporate and investment banking business Sberbank CIB, the Technology Block, Digital Business Development Directorate, CyberSecurity Service and other Sberbank divisions.

Representatives of Sberbank Group held more than 100 meetings with executives and top managers from leading global financial and tech companies. Sberbank specialists discussed issues of developing banking and financial technologies and interbank cooperation with their foreign colleagues.

A team from corporate and investment banking business Sberbank CIB held meetings with global banks regarding clearing, trade finance and global markets. Agreements were reached on expanding the geography of cooperation and improving the conditions for trade finance business, including for Sberbank Group subsidiaries. In addition, arrangements were reached with Sberbank’s key providers regarding cooperating on the application of new technologies in cross-border settlements.

One of the significant aspects of this year’s forum was the growth in interest from Middle Eastern banks in the reestablishment of business relations, making contacts, and discussing potential deals involving Russian companies in the aforementioned region.

The Digital Business Development Directorate also noted interest from participants of Sibos 2017. During talks, agreements were reached on further steps and piloting of several solutions.

Foreign banks paid special attention to the products and services offered by Sberbank subsidiary Bi.Zone, which develops cybersecurity solutions. The company’s services are based on cyberintelligence and constant monitoring of the public internet space and the darkweb. Bi.Zone is also the partner of many specialised international organisations, such as INTERPOL, Global Cyber Alliance, FIRST and others. This is the first time that the subsidiary has participated in Sberbank’s delegation at Sibos.
