OREANDA-NEWS  The Russian government will allocate about 1 billion rubles for the restoration of the seaport of Mariupol, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said at a cabinet meeting.

"The key facilities of the seaport of Mariupol need to be restored. Among them are railway depots, sidings, electrical substations, workshops, warehouses, highways. We will allocate about 1 billion rubles for these purposes this year," he said.

Mishustin explained that this is the only deep-water harbor on the Sea of Azov, through which thousands of tons of construction materials and other important goods and raw materials are transshipped. According to the Cabinet of Ministers, the decision will increase the capacity of the port, increase the stability and connectivity of the transport complex of the South of Russia.

The Prime Minister also drew attention to the fact that Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed to bring new regions to the all-Russian level in terms of the quality of infrastructure, social services and other parameters.
