OREANDA-NEWS Russian Gazprom may come with investments to the Bolivian market, there are preliminary negotiations on this topic, Bolivian President Luis Arce said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

"There are preliminary negotiations so that Gazprom can return to the country and make investments," he said.
Two years ago, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Gazprom was working on the implementation of various projects in Bolivia in the oil and gas field.

In 2016, Gazprom and the Bolivian YPFB signed an agreement on the study of promising blocks "La Ceiba", "Vitiaqua" and "Madidi". YPFB noted that in January 2019, the Russian company announced its intention to invest in Vitiaqua, but progress in cooperation was disrupted during the reign of ex-president Jeanine Agnes. The production potential of this field was estimated at 12 million cubic meters per day, which is equivalent to a fourth of the total gas production in Bolivia.
