OREANDA-NEWS Payments from the Russian budget to oil companies on the fuel damper in July amounted to 113 billion rubles, which is almost two times lower than in June. This is evidenced by the materials published on the website of the Ministry of Finance.

Last month, oil companies received 210.6 billion rubles, and in May — 204.3 billion. According to the tax legislation, the calculations for the damper are carried out for the previous month, that is, in July they were paid to contain the cost of fuel in June.

The mechanism is designed in such a way that if the cost of fuel within the country is lower than for export, companies receive compensation. Otherwise, they pay additional revenues to the budget, as happened in February and March this year.

Oil and gas budget revenues, taking into account the reduction in damping payments, increased to 934 billion rubles in July, which is 16 percent more than a year earlier. In addition to reducing the amount of compensation, fees from the tax on additional income from the extraction of hydrocarbons (NDT), paid once a quarter, had an impact.
