OREANDA-NEWS Mortality in Russia has reached the values of 2019 and by the end of the first nine months of 2023 amounted to 11.9 per thousand people of the population, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said on Tuesday.

"In general, for nine months, these are the official figures of Rosstat, which were recently published, mortality rates, despite covid, have decreased to 11.9," Golikova said during the opening of health facilities in a videoconference with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The Deputy Prime Minister added that this means overcoming the threshold of 2019 and entering a stable trajectory of reducing mortality.

"And this is connected with the primary health care and with how healthcare is developing in general and what opportunities it receives," the Deputy Prime Minister said.
