OREANDA-NEWS The Russian authorities abandoned the idea of creating a national crypto exchange and decided instead to develop rules for the functioning of crypto exchanges. This was told to Izvestia by the head of the State Duma Committee on the financial market Anatoly Aksakov.

As Anatoly Aksakov explained, since exchanges will help businesses in conducting cross-border settlements, restrictions may be imposed against them. At the same time, new crypto exchanges will appear. This concept is supported by the Ministry of Finance. The Central Bank will most likely regulate the work of crypto exchanges. The rules for the creation and operation of crypto exchanges will be prescribed in the draft law on experimental legal regimes.

Director of the Financial Policy Department of the Ministry of Finance Ivan Chebeskov said that the Central Bank believes that digital currencies should be comprehensively regulated. At the same time, a compromise has already been reached with the Central Bank: the agency has agreed to introduce mining into the legal field of mining and make it possible to conduct international settlements and exchange operations with crypto within the experimental legal regime.

Earlier, Anatoly Aksakov said that the cryptocurrency will appear as a legal product in 2023. However, it will not be possible to use it for internal calculations, it will be available only in foreign economic activity.
