OREANDA-NEWS  The Association of Banks of Russia is preparing an appeal to the Federal Customs Service (FCS) on the need to increase the undeclared limit on the import of foreign currency into Russia from $ 10 thousand to $ 100 thousand. Banks intend to seek consideration of the issue at the EAEU level.

"This issue was discussed within the association. We appealed to the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank, they said they were not against it, but we need to contact the FCS. So we are preparing a proposal to the Federal Customs Service," Alexey Voylukov, vice president of the association, told RIA Novosti.

According to him, now in Russia "there is not so much free currency," and because of sanctions, large banks cannot buy dollars and euros. The Rosfinmonitoring "RIA Novosti" explained that the increase in the amount limit for declaration can be implemented only through amendments to the legislation of the EAEU.

Now, when importing currency to Russia in the amount of more than the equivalent of $ 10 thousand, it is necessary to indicate information about the source of funds and their potential use.
