OREANDA-NEWS  The average amount of a car loan issued for the purchase of a new car or a used car decreased by 3.1 percent in April, to 1.4 million rubles. This is reported by the National Bureau of Credit Histories (NBKI).

In March, the figure reached 1.44 million rubles, the Bureau recalled. It is noted that in comparison with the year, the amount increased by almost five percent — in April 2023, it amounted to 1.33 million rubles.

The largest average amount of car loans issued last month was in Moscow (1.92 million rubles), the Moscow Region (1.69 million) and St. Petersburg (1.68 million). And the leaders in its decline were Ulyanovsk (by 9.1 percent), Samara (by 5.6 percent) and Novosibirsk (by 4.6 percent) regions.

NBKI Marketing Director Alexey Volkov noted that in 2023 the average car loan increased, primarily due to rising car prices (for example, in October last year it rose to 1.56 million rubles), and in 2024 the trend changed "largely due to discounts, promotions and subsidized rates from the distributors' side."
