OREANDA-NEWS Seasonally adjusted inflation in Russia in May decreased from April's 0.19 percent to 0.15 percent, falling below the level of October 2022 (0.18 percent). Interfax writes about this with reference to the data of the Bank of Russia.

In January, this figure was 1.13 percent, in February — 0.46 percent, and in March — 0.48 percent. Last year, such inflation never fell below 0.24 percent.

The core consumer price index (CPI) was 0.36 percent last month, seasonally adjusted, which is higher than April's 0.32 percent, but better than in the first three months of this year.

The core CPI excluding tourism fell to 0.224 percent, which was also the best result since the beginning of the year.

Earlier, Rosstat reported that inflation rose to 0.17 percent in May, which is higher than April's 0.14 percent. At the same time, annual inflation slowed from 5.58 percent to 5.31 percent, according to the ministry.
