The Central Bank lowered the dollar exchange rate in Russia

OREANDA-NEWS The leadership of the Central Bank lowered the official dollar exchange rate in Russia. This is evidenced by the data published on the regulator's website.
The quotes of the American currency on Saturday-Monday, August 22-24, will amount to 82.92 rubles. For comparison, on Friday, August 21, the official dollar exchange rate in Russia was at 83.36 rubles. Thus, the quotes of the world reserve currency were lowered by 44 cents.
The official euro exchange rate, on the contrary, was increased by 13 cents, from 96.73 to 96.86 rubles. The Chinese yuan, in turn, was trading on the Moscow Stock Exchange in the region of 12.3 rubles.
In the short term, Igor Rastorguev, a leading analyst at AMarkets, predicted that the activation of the Ministry of Finance in the foreign exchange market would most likely lead to a strengthening of the dollar. In addition, the demand for dollars from the population has been steadily growing lately. Against this background, under certain circumstances (while maintaining high imports and declining sales of foreign currency by domestic exporters), the expert did not rule out an additional strengthening of the dollar in the foreseeable future.
