OREANDA-NEWS  The cost of electricity for supplies to Germany next year fell to the lowest since November 2021 and dropped to 110.18 euros per megawatt hour. In France, the indicator also reached its lowest level in the last few years, according to Bloomberg.

Experts believe that such dynamics may indicate that the leading countries of the European Union (EU) have passed the peak period of the energy crisis. However, it is premature to talk about its complete completion. The current cost of electricity supplies in the region is about twice the pre-crisis level.

A sharp decline in prices may play into the hands of representatives of local industry, who have recently suffered from high energy costs. Taking into account the latest dynamics, the costs of enterprises will have to be gradually reduced. In addition, an additional support for the region can serve as an increase in the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG), analysts concluded.
