OREANDA-NEWS The Vienna court ordered Rasperia in absentia to pay Raiffeisen Bank International (RBI) and Russian Raiffeisenbank about 3.15 billion euros. This was reported by the RBI.

"The decision in absentia was preceded by a court review of the consistency of the requirements, during which the stated factual circumstances were found to be justified and permissible," the report says.

Rasperia can appeal the decision within four weeks. If the company does not exercise this right, the decision will take effect, after which the RBI will apply to the Austrian financial regulator for permission to recover compensation from Rasperia assets frozen in Austria.

Earlier it was reported that the Austrian Raiffeisen Bank International faced a landslide drop in shares after the American investment company Grizzly Research published a report on the organization's participation in circumvention of sanctions and trade operations with Russia.
