OREANDA-NEWS The former head of the Tambov region, Maxim Egorov, will be tried for accepting bribes in excess of 80 million rubles, a criminal case has been filed with the Leninsky District Court of Tambov, the press service of the regional courts reported.

"The Leninsky District Court of Tambov has received a criminal case against the former head of the region, Maxim Egorov, who is accused of taking bribes on an especially large scale (part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, the sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of 8 to 15 years)... The accused received bribes from one of the top managers of a large Tambov organization in the form of cash, property and vacation payments totaling over 80,000,000 rubles for his patronage," the united press service of the Tambov Region judicial system reported in Maks.
