OREANDA-NEWS  In 2026, the Russian economy will grow by 0.8 percent. This forecast is contained in a report prepared by experts from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

They noted that while growth was 4.9 percent in 2024, it slowed to a percentage in 2025. Although manufacturing output continued to grow in the first three months of 2026, and the unemployment rate reached a minimum of 2.2 percent, the overall momentum weakened.

"Annual inflation dropped to 5.6 percent in April 2026. At the beginning of 2026, oil export revenues fell by 30 percent compared to the average level in 2025. However, the conflict in the Middle East subsequently increased the demand for Russian oil. The average price of a barrel reached $95 in April 2026," the report says.

According to the EBRD forecasts, the growth rate of real GDP will slow down to 0.8 percent in 2026 and remain at the percentage level in 2027.

According to experts from one of China's largest rating agencies, China Lianhe Credit Rating, the Russian economy showed signs of fatigue in 2025.
