The number of ATMs in Russia has been reduced to a minimum

OREANDA-NEWS By the end of 2025, the number of ATMs in Russia has dropped to its lowest level since 2010. These data from the Bank of Russia were quoted by RIA Novosti.
As of January 1, 2026, there were 138,028 such devices in the country. In the middle of 2010, it was about 139 thousand.
In 2025, the number of ATMs fell by 5,900, which was the lowest rate of decline since 2020, when the drop was estimated at 2,600. In 2024, the network lost seven thousand devices, and in 2023 — 29 thousand at once.
It is noted that this trend has been observed in Russia for the last ten years.
Earlier, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Russia Andrey Khrapov proposed to impose restrictions on the issuance of cash at bank branches in case an employee suspects that a client is under the influence of fraudsters. The law enforcement officer believes that in suspicious situations it is necessary to give no more than 50 thousand rubles.
In turn, Anatoly Aksakov, head of the State Duma Committee on the Financial Market, agreed with the need to set a limit of one million rubles per month for individuals to deposit cash into an ATM account.
