OREANDA-NEWS Russia's holdings of U.S. government bonds decreased to $31 million in April, down from $35 million in March, according to data from the U.S. Treasury.

As per the data released by the Treasury Department, the portfolio now consists of $27 million in long-term securities and $4 million in short-term securities. In March, the portfolio was valued at $32 million and $3 million, respectively.

Japan remains the largest holder of U.S. debt, with its investments increasing to $1.135 trillion in April from $1.131 trillion in March. The United Kingdom is in second place, with investments of $807.7 billion, up from $779.3 billion in March. China is in third place, with investments of $757.2 billion, up from $765.4 billion in March.
