The share of Russians without savings is named

OREANDA-NEWS More than a fifth (21 percent) of Russians do not have any savings and are not going to save money in the foreseeable future. This is reported by TASS with reference to the results of a survey conducted by analysts of Roskachestvo and Finance Mail.
The study was conducted on October 5-6, and 6.4 thousand citizens over the age of 18 took part in it. As a result, it turned out that another quarter of the respondents are just planning to start saving.
Only one in five (21 percent) Russians has a financial cushion and regularly replenishes it. The same amount is transferred to savings of up to one tenth of income, and about a fifth of the respondents save from 10 to 20 percent.
More than half (54 percent) of respondents named the main purpose of savings as the formation of a financial safety cushion for a rainy day. Another 13 percent said they were saving up to buy a home, 9 percent for vacations and travel, 7 percent for medical treatment, the same number for retirement, 4 percent for buying a car, and 1 percent for education.
Almost half of Russians, in turn, do not save money on a monthly basis, the authors of the study noted. At the same time, 34 percent of citizens already have savings, but they are not going to increase them.
