OREANDA-NEWS  The growth rates of investments in the tourism industry exceed the indicators of all other sectors of the Russian economy, in the first half of 2023 they amounted to 23%, while for the whole of 2022 - 37%, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said at a meeting with the president.

"The national project "Tourism and the hospitality industry" really works, there are very powerful mechanisms - preferential loans, grant support for the construction of modular hotels, co-financing of the supporting infrastructure, investment projects with the participation of the corporation "Tourism.RF". Our investment volume has almost tripled. Last year, according to Rosstat, investments in the tourism industry increased by 37%, this year we expect an excess, because only in the first half of the year we see an increase of 23%. That is, business invests funds there like never before, we do not see such growth in any branch of the economy," he said.

Chernyshenko added that now, together with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, investors, and representatives of ski resorts, work is underway to consolidate orders from the tourism industry for key types of equipment, taking into account sanctions restrictions on its supplies to Russia.

"To equip the main promising ski resorts that are under construction or are planned, we will need about 180 new large cable cars of various types, including for the urban transport network. A significant part of the need is already being covered by our manufacturers. This also applies to snow trucks - according to the industry's assessment, more than 200 of them will be needed for ski slopes. Also, artificial snowmaking systems, snowmobiling, mountain rescue equipment, equipment - all this is in the focus of attention. The Ministry of Industry and Trade, together with the Ministry of Economic Development, continues to work to determine the needs and form an order for the industry to bring these products to the resorts," the Deputy Prime Minister added.
