OREANDA-NEWS  The term of money transfers from Russian businesses to China began to reach two to three months. The fact that payments began to be delayed was reported by the senior partner of the Moscow office of the law firm DHH Yuan Yi, as quoted by RBC.

You can wait months for the money to arrive at the Chinese company's account after it is sent from Russia, and then you will not receive it at all. Such problems with calculations lead to uncertainty with the fulfillment of the terms of trade contracts, the expert noted.

According to Dmitry Prokhorenko, director for the development of the foreign network of the Russian Export Center (REC), on average payments to China take place in one to three weeks, depending on the types of products purchased, correspondent banks and the currency in which payments are made. At the same time, a number of suppliers cannot clearly explain how to make transfers from Russia to China, added Vasily Kuzovkov, director of AVASOFT Systems and Energosoft IC.

As previously reported by Reuters, due to Chinese banks' fear of secondary US sanctions, payments to China have become significantly more difficult for Russian companies. Under the new conditions, up to half of transactions are conducted through intermediaries from third countries. Most often, these are firms from Hong Kong, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, the United Arab Emirates and other jurisdictions. However, this scheme means a high commission and the risk of cargo confiscation.

According to US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, Washington is ready to impose sanctions on them for helping Russia supply dual-use goods. Later, the US determination to take such a step was confirmed during a visit to China by Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.
