OREANDA-NEWS  KMZ Holding (Kingisepp Machine-Building Plant), which produces marine drones and boats for Russian law enforcement agencies, will build 36 boats for the state customer by the end of 2024. The managing director of KMZ Mikhail Danilenko told RIA Novosti.

"A contract has been signed with another state customer, according to which we must deliver 36 boats by the end of 2024: 12 five-meter boats, 12 boats 6.4 meters long and 12 boats with two outboard engines. We did the same for the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The state has plans for them, but they have not been announced yet," he said.

Earlier in November, Danilenko said that by the end of 2023, the Russian Defense Ministry will receive the first domestic marine drones. The first experimental batch will include ten products.

In the same month, Izvestia, citing sources in the Ministry of Defense, reported that the Russian Armed Forces would have special divisions of river assault boats. As part of the experiment, the first such division has already been created.

In September, it became known that KMZ Holding is negotiating with the Russian Defense Ministry on the purchase of unmanned boats based on the Vizir platform.
