OREANDA-NEWS It is planned to create a crewless boat (BEC) based on the BK-10 high-speed assault boat. Alan Lushnikov, head of the Kalashnikov concern and a member of the bureau of the Russian Engineering Union, said this in an interview with TASS.

The head recalled that the amphibious assault boat initially receives two machine guns, but can be equipped with other weapons at the request of the customer. "We are moving in this direction because we understand that modern warfare in the maritime theater of military operations is impossible without unmanned boats," said the head of the concern.

In June, a Kalashnikov representative informed the agency following the results of the International Naval Salon "Fleet-2026" that the Russian high-speed BK-16E amphibious assault boats had been successfully used in Africa against terrorist groups.

In August 2024, the general director of the Rybinsk Shipyard, Semyon Danilin, told RIA Novosti that Russian BK-10 and BK-16 boats were effectively fighting Ukrainian surface drones in the Black Sea.
