OREANDA-NEWS  A 44-year-old foreigner was detained at Tolmachevo airport in the Novosibirsk region on suspicion of bribery. About this reported in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

According to the agency, transport police officers have revealed a violation of migration rules by a citizen of one of the neighboring countries. He did not leave Russia on time and lived in the country for several months without the necessary documents. The foreigner, wishing to avoid punishment for an administrative offense, offered a bribe to the policeman.

Now the man was detained under Article 18.8 ("Violation by a foreign citizen or a stateless person of the rules of entry into the Russian Federation or the regime of stay (residence) in the Russian Federation") Administrative Code of the Russian Federation. In addition, the issue of initiating a case under the article on attempted bribery is being resolved.

Earlier, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev called for strengthening the fight against the issuance of fake certificates of proficiency in Russian to migrants. Kolokoltsev also demanded to identify those who evade fingerprint registration and photographing and take tough measures in case of abuse of legal status.
