OREANDA-NEWS A multidisciplinary business mission of Russian companies began work on August 19 in Dushanbe, according to the Russian Export Center (REC, VEB Group).
"On August 19, an international business mission in the field of construction, agro-industrial complex and consumer goods started its work in Dushanbe. The event is organized by the Russian Export Center (REC, VEB Group.Russia) and will last for two days – on August 19 and 20," the press release says.
16 Russian companies from 13 regions of the country are participating in the work of the mission. For them, the REC organizes B2B meetings with representatives of Tajik retail chains, construction organizations and government agencies. The agenda of the negotiations includes the expansion of supplies of flour, confectionery, meat, as well as construction materials and equipment.
The opening ceremony took place on the morning of August 19th. Magomed Tashtamirov, Head of the REC Representative Office in Tajikistan, Alexander Rybas, Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in Tajikistan, and Timur Yeribek, Head of the International Relations Department of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan, addressed the participants with welcoming words. Muso Shorakhmatullayev, Director of Zira Holding, also made a presentation on "The specifics of working in the agro-industrial complex market in Tajikistan." TajBuild CEO Alijon Kadirov spoke about the current situation, trends and key players in the construction market of the republic.
"Russia and Tajikistan do not share a common border, but we share common values, long-term friendship and similar preferences. That is why Russian manufacturers traditionally enjoy the high confidence of the Tajik people. In Tajikistan, they know that "Made in Russia" is a guarantee of high quality and a responsible approach to production," said Magomed Tashtamirov.
In his opening remarks, Alexander Rybas, Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Tajikistan, drew special attention to the high growth rates of Tajikistan's economy and the potential for expanding trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
"Today, against the background of a continuous increase in demand, the agricultural and food sectors are among the most attractive, taking into account the competitive opportunities of Russian companies in the Tajik market. We see good prospects for strengthening our positions in the pharmaceutical market. In addition, in the first half of 2026, the construction market grew by 50% compared to the same period last year, which also provides Russian companies with good opportunities to develop relations with partners," Alexander Rybas emphasized.
