OREANDA-NEWS In the Trans-Baikal Territory, investigators have opened a criminal case against a former policeman for selling drugs through "bookmarks". About this was reported in the regional department of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

The case was initiated under articles 228.1 ("illegal sale of narcotic drugs") and 286 ("abuse of official authority") of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The former security officer was arrested.

At that time, the duties of a police officer included combating drug trafficking. However, using his official powers, he illegally acquired, stored and sold prohibited substances. According to investigators, in June 2025, the suspect contacted a drug distribution group through one of the messengers, purchased and distributed drugs using bookmarks.

Earlier in St. Petersburg, two drug dealers were detained in a Nissan Teana car with a shipment of marijuana in the amount of 12 kilograms.
