A Russian fighter destroyed an APU boat with a crew near the island of Zmeiny

OREANDA-NEWS In the Black Sea, a Su-30 fighter destroyed a Ukrainian military boat with a crew, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.
"On August 30, 2023, east of Zmeiny Island in the Black Sea, the crew of a Su-30 naval aviation aircraft destroyed a high—speed military boat of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with a crew," the ministry said in a telegram channel.
Zmeiny is a rocky island with an area of 20.5 hectares, which is located in the Black Sea near Odessa. At the beginning of the military operation, the Russian military took control of it, and four months later left it "as a gesture of goodwill." The Defense Ministry called it a demonstration to the world community of the absence of obstacles to the export of grain from Ukraine. The decision was made against the background of the preparation of the grain deal, in which Russia stopped participating in July of this year.
In early July, the APU was delivered to the Snake Flag of Ukraine, dropping it from a helicopter. Also this month, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky visited the island. He laid flowers at the makeshift memorial and expressed gratitude to the servicemen.
