OREANDA-NEWS  A separate class of airspace for flights of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) will be installed by the end of 2025, said Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Saveliev at the Council for Strategic Development and national Projects, which was held by President Vladimir Putin.

"A draft government decree has been prepared on the establishment of a new class "H" airspace for UAS flights. Such an "H" class will be installed before the end of this year," Saveliev said.

Putin instructed the government to adopt a regulatory framework to establish a new class of airspace for drones by June 1, 2025.

The appearance of such a separate class, limited to a height of 500 m, was announced in November 2024 by the head of the Federal Air Transport Agency Dmitry Yadrov. Later, he explained that it was planned to allocate heights from zero to 120 meters only for drones - for security reasons, these would be "not airfield zones, not take-off and landing zones." The second layer, which was discussed with general aviation, is from 300 to 400 meters, designed for flights of "heavier vehicles."
