OREANDA-NEWS. In the city of Brovary (Kiev Region, Ukraine) a shootout occurred on the morning of May 29. The regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that police detained ten armed persons. The press secretary of the police of the Kiev Region Vitalia Groholskaya informed that about one hundred people participated in the shootout.

“According to the preliminary version, there was a conflict between entrepreneurs involved in passenger transportation and illegal transporters. Information about the victims is being clarified," the police department of the Kiev Region reported.

Police officers detained ten suspects. It turned out that they are visitors from other regions of Ukraine.

Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Anton Gerashchenko said that three people were wounded. He called the incident “a criminal showdown between gangs that cover up fixed-run taxis.”

Interior Minister Arsen Avakov wrote in one of the social networks that the shootout is “an echo of corruption in determining the quotas of carriers, attracting gangs in the fight for transportation routes.”
