OREANDA-NEWS The government has extended a special procedure for the sale of foreign medicines in Russia until the end of 2025 in order to avoid shortages of medicines and disruptions in pharmacy supplies, the Russian cabinet said.
"A special procedure for the sale of registered foreign medicines in Russia has been extended until the end of 2025. The resolution on this has been signed," the message on the Cabinet's website says.

The government of the Russian Federation noted that it is a question of the possibility of selling foreign drugs not only in Russian, but also in foreign packaging with a label in Russian.

"This helps to avoid shortages of medicines and interruptions in supplies to pharmacies, clinics and hospitals," the cabinet explained.
The decision on the sale of medicines in foreign packaging is made by a special interdepartmental commission.

Earlier, the Russian government extended the simplified procedure for state registration of certain medicines and medical products until the end of 2027.
