OREANDA-NEWS The commander of the combat vehicle, Sergeant Denis Shamalyuk, who received the Order of Courage, said that six soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) were able to capture the wounded. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.

He reported that a close-range shooting battle had begun. Shamalyuk decided to take a position on the left side of the road and ran to the basement, which turned out to be closed. Then massive shelling began, the Russian military tried to open the door to take cover.

"I shouted: "There is someone, come out!" A voice rang out: "Don't shoot, we have a wounded man." I took a position when they started to open the door, there were six Ukrainian servicemen there," Shamalyuk said.

He ordered the AFU fighters to hand over their weapons and took them outside. The wounded Ukrainian soldier was treated. In addition, the commander of the combat vehicle himself, who was wounded, was taken to the medical battalion.

Earlier, Ukrainian soldier Vadim Zhmurko, who surrendered to Russian fighters, called it the only way to survive at the front. He noted that the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine does not evacuate the wounded. According to Zhmurko, the AFU fighters are being attacked by Russian drones, tanks and artillery.
