OREANDA-NEWS   Aftershocks continue off the coast of Kamchatka after a powerful earthquake that occurred on July 30, almost 30 noticeable tremors were registered during the day, the Main Directorate of the Russian Emergencies Ministry for the region reported on Friday.

"During the day, 29 aftershocks of magnitude from 3.7 to 5.5 occurred. One of them was felt by the residents of the region," the message says.

On July 30, the strongest earthquake since 1952 occurred off the eastern coast of Kamchatka, with a magnitude of 8.8. Residents of settlements in the Kamchatka Territory felt tremors of up to eight points. A tsunami alert was announced. After that, there are aftershocks off the coast of Kamchatka. The most severe of them occurred on September 19. Its magnitude was 7.8. In Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and Vilyuchinsk, the earthquake was felt with a force of up to 7 points.
