OREANDA-NEWS The United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) has presented the Amur-1650 submarine project, which will be able to carry Russian-Indian BrahMos supersonic missiles. This is reported by TASS.

The model of the submarine was shown at the USC stand at the International Naval Salon "Fleet-2026". The development of the Rubin design bureau is planned to be equipped with vertical launchers and an air-independent power plant.

The corporation stressed that Amur has one of the largest ammunition reserves in the world among non-nuclear submarines. The submarine can carry up to 28 rounds of ammunition. The VPU allows it to be armed with BrahMos anti-ship missiles or Kalibr-PL family missiles. Amur-1650 will be able to operate for 60 days in open ocean conditions and in shallow water.

In January, the American edition of 19FortyFive wrote that Amur submarines intended primarily for export may not find buyers, as they will face competition from Western European manufacturers.
