OREANDA-NEWS An earthquake was recorded in Yakutia on Monday, June 16. This is reported by the YSIA portal with reference to the director of the local branch of the Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Sergey Shibaev.

According to the expert, the tremors in the Russian region occurred at 16:36 local time (10:36 Moscow time), 81 kilometers from Deputatskoye and 28 kilometers west of the village of Sailyk. Their intensity was 5-6 points, and the magnitude was 4. The source, Shibaev noted, lay at a depth of 10 kilometers.

The earthquake happened in Peru the day before. Its magnitude was 6.1 — tremors of this magnitude are considered powerful. The epicenter of the earthquake was located 30 kilometers southwest of the Constitutional Province of Callao.
