OREANDA-NEWS An earthquake of magnitude 4.6 was detected in the waters of the Avacha Bay. This is reported on the website of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the region.

It is noted that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 79 kilometers, 32 kilometers from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. It was recorded at 19:32 Moscow time (10:32 local time). Before that, the earthquake occurred around 7:40 (16:30 Moscow time). It is reported that it was felt in Ust-Kamchatsk, while the magnitude of the earthquake is not specified.

"The tsunami threat was not announced in both cases. Calls to the EDDS of the municipal districts of the Kamchatka Territory from citizens have not been received," the Ministry of Emergency Situations said.

Before that, an earthquake of magnitude 4.5 occurred in eastern Turkey.

According to the portal, everything happened at 6:28 (coincides with Moscow). The epicenter was 16 km southwest of the city of Malatya with a population of more than 441,000 people. The hearth lay at a depth of 5 km .

Information about the victims and destruction has not yet been received.
