OREANDA-NEWS An earthquake of magnitude 4.3 occurred 91 km northwest of Sochi and 15 km northwest of Tuapse in the Krasnodar Territory, according to data from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC).

According to the center, the earthquake was recorded on May 25 at 22:02 Moscow time. The epicenter was at a depth of 10 km .

Residents of the Tuapse district reported on social networks about quite noticeable tremors.

According to the press service of the Main Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations on the edge, there are no victims and destruction of buildings. "The work of operational groups has been organized. 13 appeals were received from the population. Infrastructure and life support facilities are functioning normally, there are no fatalities or injuries. The information is under control," the department noted.

Telegram channel Kub Mash reports that during the earthquake, a crack appeared on the ceiling in one of the apartments in the house No. 126 on Kalarasha Street, and tiles split on the sidewalk at the intersection of Frunze Street and Novorossiysk Highway.

A series of earthquakes occurred off the coast of the Tuapse region last week. Aftershocks of magnitude 3.2 were recorded on May 15 at 04:10 at a distance of 1 km south of Tuapse at a depth of 5 km. On May 13, at 21:16, an earthquake of magnitude 3.6 was recorded 75 km northwest of Sochi and 2 km south of Tuapse.
