OREANDA-NEWS  Seismologists have registered a magnitude 5.5 earthquake in the Pacific Ocean, 521 kilometers from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and 116 kilometers from the village of Nikolsky, the administrative center of the Aleutian Municipal District, the Kamchatka branch of the United Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences reported.

"Coordinates: 56.0227, 164.8813. Distance from the PC: 521. Depth (KM): 63.7. Magnitude (Ml): 5.5... 116 kilometers from the village of Nikolskoye," the scientists informed in the channel on the Maks platform.

According to the service, the tremor occurred at 16.42 Kamchatka time (07.42 Moscow time). In Nikolsky, the earthquake was felt with a force of up to three points. There were no reports of damage or casualties. No tsunami threat has been announced.
