OREANDA-NEWS An emergency warning has been issued in the Trans-Baikal Territory due to the expectation of heavy rains. This was announced by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the region on its VKontakte page.

The warning will be in effect on Wednesday and Thursday, August 19th and 20th. "According to information received from the Trans—Baikal Department of Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring: very heavy rains and heavy downpours are expected in some places on the territory of the Trans-Baikal Territory on the afternoon of August 19 and on the night of August 20," the department warned.

Against this background, sharp rises in water levels are expected on most rivers in the region — in some places it may reach the floodplain and flood roads, bridges and household plots.

Earlier, residents of Moscow were warned about the rains that will take place in the capital and the region in the coming days. Forecasters said that precipitation will be light and moderate in places.At the same time, the wind will increase. On August 19, gusts of up to 15-17 meters per second are possible in places. In the following days, the wind will subside to 6-11 and 4-9 meters per second.
