OREANDA-NEWS Bahrain wants to work and expand cooperation with Russian oil and gas, commercial and industrial firms, Bahraini Ambassador to Moscow Ahmed Al-Saati told RIA Novosti.

"We want to expand relations with Russia... Every week we receive a lot of representatives of companies specializing in the oil and gas sector, trade, and industry. We really want them to work with Bahrain, and our door is open. We really want to expand cooperation," the ambassador said.

According to Al-Saati, Manama had previously offered Moscow to open Russian representative offices in Bahrain's trade and economic organizations, including the Russian trade house in the kingdom, but did not see "any activity in this direction on the part of relevant Russian structures."

"Without a doubt, there is great interest, but there are also difficulties. The biggest issue right now is financial transfers between Russia and Bahrain. Other difficulties, such as logistical aspects, the language barrier can be solved," the ambassador said.

According to him, the Russian side can provide investors from Arab countries with a chance to invest. "We expect Russia to give us a chance to invest. We are interested in such areas as food security, tourism, medicine, pharmaceuticals," he added.
